Who is TDI?

TDI is the largest technical certification agency in the world.  As one of the first agencies to provide training in mixed gas diving and rebreathers, TDI is seen as an innovator of new diving techniques and programs which previously were not available to the general public.  Training with TDI has provided divers with the opportunity to see such wrecks as the Andrea Doria, Lusitania and the Prince of Wales.  TDI divers have explored underwater caves in Spain, Australia and Mexico and assisted as support divers on world record freedives done in the Red Sea.

TDI’s professionals are held to the highest standard to ensure quality training throughout the world.  This means that as a diver taking a TDI course, your instructor will have documented his experience and knowledge prior to achieving that rating.  As an instructor candidate taking a TDI course, your TDI instructor trainer will have gone through the paces to achieve the highest level of training that TDI offers.

TDI is committed to offering the highest quality training supported by the latest materials with the most up to date information and techniques.  TDI’s materials are written by authors that acutely conduct the type of diving they are writing about.  Those same materials are updated as technology and equipment change.

TDI Intro To Tech

The TDI Intro to Tech course introduces students to the world of technical diving. This course is designed as an introductory course to the TDI Advanced Nitrox course and the TDI Decompression Procedures Course. The objective of this course is to familiarize students with technical equipment configurations, to enhance open water diving skills (such as buoyancy, trim, and situational awareness), and to introduce students to advanced gas planning techniques within a no-decompression context. This course is strictly a no-decompression course; students are permitted to use enriched air nitrox (EAN) mixes, provided the gas mix is within their current level of certification.

Student Prerequisites:

Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent
Minimum certification an SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent
Provide proof of 25 logged open water dives

COST: $150 (Academics not included)

TDI Nitrox

This is the entry-level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) as a breathing gas. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for using nitrox mixes from 22 through 40 percent oxygen content.

COST: $140 (Academics not included)

TDI Advanced Nitrox

This course examines the use of EAN-21 through 100 percent oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of 40 metres/130 feet. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing EAN-21 through 100 percent oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression. TDI Decompression Procedures or the Intro to Tech may be combined with this course at the discretion of the instructor.

Decompression Procedures Diver

This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. This program is designed as a stand-alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with TDI Advanced Nitrox. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 metres/150 feet.. The most common equipment requirements, equipment set-up and decompression techniques are presented.

Student Prerequisites:

Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent
Minimum certification of TDI Nitrox Diver, or equivalent
Show proof of 25 logged open water dives
If this course is taught in conjunction with the TDI Decompression Procedures course, the minimum age is 18

ADVANCED NITROX &
DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES DIVER COSTS:
$400 PER CLASS

COMBINE ADVANCED NITROX &
DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES FOR $700

(Academics not included with either class), 4 dives with Instructor and 100 minutes bottom time

Extended Range Diver

This course provides training and experience required to competently utilize air for dives up to 55 metres/180 feet that requires staged decompression, utilizing nitrox mixtures or oxygen during decompression. The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of deep air diving to a maximum of 55 metres/180 feet utilizing nitrox mixtures or oxygen for staged decompression.

Student Prerequisites:

Minimum age 18
Certified as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and TDI Decompression Procedures Diver, or equivalents
Provide proof of a minimum of 100 logged dives, of which 25 must be deeper than 30 metres/100 feet

COST: $800 (Academics not included, 6 dives (2 > 100 ft, 4 > 130 ft)

Solo Diver Certification

The solo diver program teaches experienced recreational divers how to safely dive independently of a dive buddy or strengthen your buddy team skills. The course stresses on proper dive planning, personal limitations, accident prevention as well as the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving solo. You will also learn the additional equipment that is required for solo diving including its proper usage and assembly.

Student Prerequisites:

Minimum age 21
SDI Advanced Diver or equivalent
Provide proof of 100 logged dives

COST: $180 (Academics not included)

Trimix Diver

The TDI Trimix course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 60 metres/200 feet. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen/helium/nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases. Gas mixes are not to have any less than 18 percent oxygen (O2).

Student Prerequisites:

Minimum age 18
Minimum certification as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and TDI Decompression Procedures Diver, or equivalent
Provide proof of a minimum 100 logged dives

COST: $700 (Academics not included, 4 dives (2 > 130) and 100 minutes bottom time

Advanced Trimix Diver

The TDI Advanced Trimix course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and/or oxygen (O2) mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 100 metres/330 feet. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen/helium/nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases

Student Prerequisites:
Minimum age 18
Minimum certification TDI Extended Range Diver or Entry Level Trimix Diver, or equivalent
Provide proof of a minimum 100 logged dives with 25 deeper than 30 metres / 100 feet
Provide proof of prior logged experience w/ double cylinders and any other unfamiliar equipment such as dry suit

COST: $700 (Academics not included, 4 dives (2 > 180 ft) and 100 minutes bottom time)
